Step back in time to the middle Ages at Almansa Park San Javier this weekend
Get ready to travel back through the centuries as San Javier transforms into a vibrant medieval village for four magical days this June. From June 6 to 9, the town’s Almansa Park will host the Great Medieval Market, bringing history to life with music, crafts, food and fantastic performances for all ages.
The park’s Winter Theatre grounds will become the heart of the festivities, with nearly 60 stalls lining the streets and selling everything from handmade crafts to traditional foods and sweet treats. Visitors can sip mint tea in an atmospheric Arab tea room, sample delicacies at the rustic taverns or browse a rich variety of artisanal goods at the newly added Arab souk.
This year’s edition promises more excitement than ever. Expect a packed programme including travelling performers, fantasy characters, musicians and lively parades that will bring every corner of the market to life. Children will be especially enchanted by the dedicated kids’ fair, themed photo ops and hands-on workshops teaching traditional crafts.
One of the standout attractions is sure to be Las Águilas del Sol, a renowned falconry company that will host stunning flight displays and talks on wildlife conservation.

Councillor for Culture David Martínez, joined by one of the market’s mythical creatures, encouraged locals and tourists alike to experience the medieval spirit of San Javier, which he said is "a tribute to daily life, the arts and crafts of the Middle Ages, its gastronomy, beliefs and culture."
This year, the Great Medieval Market also coincides with
the Hot Rally San Javier, adding even more buzz to the weekend, and leads up to the Aire 25 music festival on June 14 and 15.
The market stretches along Avenida Calderón de la Barca, from Plaza Almansa to Plaza de la Cruz, with beautiful medieval décor and entertainment around every corner.
The grand opening takes place at 7pm on Friday June 6. On Saturday and Sunday, market hours run from 10.30am to 2pm and again from 4.30pm to 10.30pm, before wrapping up on Monday June 9 (Region of Murcia Day) at 6pm.
