August 4 and 5 Summer Carnival 2023 in Aguilas

Águilas hosts a series of parades and events mirroring the largest early spring Carnival in the Region of Murcia

The town of Águilas is well-known in the Region of Murcia for holding the largest and most spectacular Carnival celebrations in the Costa Cálida in February, but there is also an entertaining summer Carnival which takes place in late July and/or early August every year.

This year’s summer Carnival in Águilas features the two following main events: 

Friday August 4: Grand Open-Air Gala in Plaza Antonio Cortijos to choose the main protagonists in next February's Carnival, beginning at 21.30.

Saturday August 5: The main Carnival parade along the seafront, starting at the Monument to the Railways next to the fishing port and enfing at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena alongside the Playa de las Delicias. This parade generally attracts huge crowds of both locals and holidaymakers, and reflects the fervour with which the Aguileños celebrate their Carnival every year!

This may be billed as a children's event, but bars and cafés will be allowed to open until 5.00 in the morning, with inside venues open until 7.00!
