San Pedro del Pinatar joins in the celebrations of carnival across the Murcia Region with a gala, entertainment for the youngsters and grand adult carnival parade.
The main events take place in a marquee installed on the seafront in Lo Pagán on the Explanada of Lo Pagán

21.30 Gala to elect the Musa or Muso of the carnival
Friday 21st February 2020
21.30: Welcoming gala to initiate the carnival celebrations in San Pedro del Pinatar
This includes the presentation of the participating comparsas, prizegiving for the Máscara del Carnaval 2019, live music and dancing and the battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma.This year there is also a dance display by the Ballet Kebanna and a drag queen exhibition.
Venue: Carpa Municipal, the marquee installed for the duration of the festivities on the Lo Pagán Explanada.
Saturday 22nd February
From 11.00 onwards: Children’s fun carnival in the Plaza de la Constitución. This year the offering includes a mechanical bucking bull,bouncy castles and other entertainment for kiddies. This is open from 11:00 to 14:00 and again from 16:00 to 20:00.At 11am the children wearing fancy dress parade and are given a small gift each, at 12 midday a musical for the children takes place and between 16.30 and 19.30 popcorn is distributed to all attending children.
Sunday 23rd February
17.00: Grand carnival parade 2020
The parade departs from the parking area alongside the parque Condesa Villa de Felices, and continues via Avenida Dr. Artero Guirao, Avenida Emilio Castelar, Avenida Romería de la Virgen del Carmen (formerly known as Avenida Generalísimo, concluding at the fiestas marquee installed on the Explanada in Lo Pagán.
Around 30 different dance groups (comparsas) will be taking part this year.
