Watch! Between tradition and charming absurdity lies Benidorm.. and three dogs in a toy car
In a city where chaos and charm go hand in hand, even the most unexpected scenes, like dogs on wheels by the beach, feel perfectly at home.
Cómo no va a ser Benidorm mi ciudad favorita de España pic.twitter.com/9N6Jlusgzt

Benidorm is a place where the classic and the modern go hand in hand. Where, within a few metres, you can go from a pensioner playing pétanque to a group of Brits in fluorescent tutus getting ready for a stag do. Everything fits, nothing feels out of place.
So, three dogs riding in a toy car doesn’t raise eyebrows - it simply adds to the mix. It joins the catalogue of scenes that make Benidorm a place that’s impossible to explain, but instantly recognisable.
The loveliest thing about the scene, as seen in the video, was how natural it all felt. No one seemed particularly surprised. Some smiled, others took photos, but for the most part, it was accepted as just another moment in a Benidorm summer. A scene that, without trying, captures the soul of the city: open, chaotic, unpredictable and above all, full of life.
In a place where the rules of what’s expected were relaxed long ago, gestures like this are seen as small declarations of personal freedom. Who said there’s only one way to walk your dogs? Why not do it in style - on wheels, with a sea view?
Scenes you won’t see anywhere else
Let’s be clear: this doesn’t happen in Madrid. Or Paris. Not even in Ibiza. This happens in Benidorm. In a city where banana costumes mingle with evening gowns, where dancing in the street is practically a religion and contrasts are celebrated, the strange stops being strange.
That, perhaps, is Benidorm’s true charm: it turns the unusual into part of everyday life. You might come for the beach, the paella or the parties but what you’ll take away are the stories. Some unforgettable, others simply unexplainable. And if you’re lucky, you might just catch a glimpse of that little remote-controlled car, with three happy dogs gazing out at the horizon.
