The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, recently attended the opening of a cutting-edge electric vehicle charging station in the Thader Shopping Centre (Churra, Murcia). Developed by Iberdrola | bp pulse, the facility boasts eight charging points, two of which are capable of delivering 360kW and six others providing 180kW.

 

This makes it possible to charge up to eight vehicles simultaneously, making it one of the most powerful charging stations in the Mediterranean Corridor.

 

A charge of just a few minutes at the new facility will deliver enough juice for a car to travel around 400 kilometres.

 

The project is part of an agreement between Iberdrola | bp pulse and luxury carmaker Porsche to roll out ultra-fast charging technology across Spain and Portugal. With this latest addition, the Thader Shopping Centre now offers a comprehensive charging infrastructure, complementing its eleven other 7.4kW charging points.

 

Iberdrola | bp pulse continues to expand its presence in the Region of Murcia, where it has already installed 18 charging points with power of 150kW or more.

 

Mayor Ballesta explained "There are many initiatives that the Murcia City Council has adopted in its determined commitment to the environment, such as the planting of trees within the projects, the Forest Plan, electric mobility within public transport and the increase of the green areas of parks and gardens. We believe that the future of this city has to be a green, shared future in which we push in the same direction."
