Star gazers in Spain will be able to witness a spectacular full moon this Wednesday October 20, commonly referred to as the Hunter’s Moon. First coined by the Oxford Dictionary in 1710, the phenomenon will be visible from 4:56pm and represents the time of year when animals in the wild are plumping up, making it the perfect time to hunt.

 

According to NASA, who has cited the official Farmer’s Almanac, the Hunter’s Moon follows the Harvest Moon, the full moon which occurs closest to the autumn equinox, which fell on September 22 this year.

 

Now that crops have been gathered and the fields are clear, hunters can easily spot their prey. In addition, the high full moon will flood extra light on the plains, allowing hunters to see more clearly once the sun goes down.
