Second Spanish princess enrols in college in Wales

Following a new Spanish tradition, Infanta Sofía, the youngest daughter of the King and Queen of Spain, will complete her high school education at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales like her older sister Leonor, the Princess of Asturias, who first enrolled at the UK institution in August 2021.

According to palace sources, the younger princess will attend the Wales college for two academic years, between 2023 and 2025, to study both science and literature subjects.

The education programme also involves a common interdisciplinary course on theory of knowledge and a research module, as well as special classes focusing on creativity, sports and community services.

Princess Sofía, who, like her sister, will reside at the College, is scheduled to move to the UK before the start of the August/September term this year. The tuition of 82,707 euros will be covered in full by the Spanish Royal Family.

The palace has not yet revealed which course of third level education the Princess of Asturias, next in line to the Spanish throne, will follow on her graduation from the UWC. In the event that she renounces like her grandfather before her, the young the Infanta Sofía would succeed her as Head of State.
