ARCHIVED - Ryanair launches its most extensive schedule ever at Malaga Airport for summer 2023
The company will operate 84 routes in Malaga, six of them new, and adds two planes to its fleet

The airline Ryanair has announced this Wednesday February 15 its increased flight schedule to Malaga for the summer of 2023, with 84 routes, six of which are new destinations including Belfast, Newquay and Bremen. They are also increasing the frequency of more than 25 of their most popular routes on the Costa del Sol.
This record programme, which will see 23% more flights compared to summer 2022, means Ryanair will have two new aircraft based at Malaga Airport by summer 2023, up to a total of 13. This will entail an additional investment of 200 million dollars, meaning the total comes to 1.3 billion, so they can carry an estimated 6.3 million passengers this year, supporting more than 5,000 jobs.
The winter season at Malaga Airport ends on March 25, when it is believed that the new summer flights will begin to be offered.
New destinations you can fly to from Malaga Airport this summer
The six new destinations being added are:
- Newquay (United Kingdom)
- Belfast (Northern Ireland)
- Bremen (Germany)
- Frankfurt Hahn (Germany)
- Paderborn (Germany)
- Gdansk (Poland)
The Belfast flight will run three times a week, while Newquay, Bremen, Frankfurt Hann, Paderborn and Gdansk will all run twice a week.
In addition, there will be an increase in the frequency of flights on more than 25 routes, including Barcelona, Milan Bergamo, Marseille, Marrakech, London and Ibiza.
“Ryanair will offer Malaga's citizens and visitors the widest choice at the lowest fares when booking their 2023 summer getaways, while increasing connectivity, inbound tourism and local jobs,” they say.
This growth is backed by Ryanair’s 1.3-billion-dollar investment at Malaga Airport, with six of its 13 aircraft being of the ‘Gamechanger’ variety that emit 16% less fuel emissions and carry 4% more passengers.
