ARCHIVED - Patients in Valencia region can now make in-person or over-the-phone medical appointments again
Primary Care centres in the three provinces of the Valenica region; Alicante, Castellón and Valencia have all resumed presencial appointments
This new option for those requiring the services of GPs, nurses, paediatricians and midwives, and appointments can be made online or by phone call
Primary Care centres in the region of Valencia have renewed their in-person activity and patients can now choose between a phone call or in-person assistance when making an appointment in these centres.
Appointments can be made on the GVA+Salut mobile app, on the Ministry of Health’s website, by calling 961 839 000 or by calling the health centre directly.
For those who visit the health centre without an appointment, there will be a selection process to allocate medical attention to the most urgent cases first, in order to offer each patient the most appropriate services in the shortest time possible.
In-person appointments with GPs, nurses, have been operational since this Monday (May 10) in the region, thanks to the favourable evolution of the pandemic in the Comunidad Valenciana.(see the latest data relating to the covid pandemic in the region)
The objective is to optimize the care provided and prevent excessive gatherings in Primary Care centres, which could put patients and medical staff at risk, as well as avoiding unnecessary travel for patients whose problem could be solved over the phone.
If the epidemiological data remains favourable in the region of Valencia, the Ministry of Health will aim to resume 80 per cent of all in-person activity during the month of May.
Primary Care centres provided 36.6 million medical appointments in 2019, most of which were in-person. More than half of these appointments were for GP’s, followed by 37 per cent for nurses and ten per cent for paediatricians, the rest corresponded to appointments with midwives.
