Cartagena to host Spanish Masters Sailing Championship in October 2027
The Snipe class event will bring national sailors to the Cartagena port after almost ten years

Cartagena is set to welcome the country’s sailors again in a year’s time, as the port will host the Spanish Masters Sailing Championship in the Snipe class in October 2027.
The Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena (RCRC) will organise the event, which will be the first national competition in the sport to take place on the city’s dock in around a decade. The Spanish Association of the International Snipe Class gave a favourable report on the candidacy and backed the club to run the championship.
In a press release after the announcement, the club said it’s taking on the challenge “with enthusiasm and responsibility”, and that it hopes to put on a great competition and help Cartagena regain its place as a benchmark for Spanish sailing.
The city also expects the championship to promote it as a nautical destination and give the local economy a lift, particularly hotels, bars and restaurants, as a good number of competitors are expected to arrive with their companions.
