ARCHIVED - British tourist left fighting for his life after being hit by a motorbike in Benidorm
The 25-year-old was struck on a pedestrian crossing in the Costa Blanca holiday resort

A British holidaymaker is in a critical condition fighting for his life after being hit by a motorbike on a pedestrian crossing in Benidorm.
The 25-year-old suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to Alicante’s General University Hospital "with his life at serious risk" after being struck on a road close to what is known as Benidorm's 'little England' zone.
The accident happened on a section of Avenida del Mediterráneo close to Rincón de Lox around 5.30pm on Thursday March 30 in an area where the speed limit is 30km/h.
The unnamed tourist is believed to have been with a group of friends heading towards Levante beach promenade when he attempted to cross the road on a red light. According to reports, they tried to stop him before he was struck after the high-powered motorcyclist was unable to avoid him.
Paramedics gave the wounded Brit emergency medical assistance at the scene before he was airlifted to hospital.
The 42-year-old motorcyclist, whose nationality has not been disclosed, was also injured, although not seriously. Local police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, and whether or not the rider was speeding.
Workman dies at Benidorm hotel
An investigation is also underway after a 64-year-old workman died after falling 15 metres while carrying out repairs at a hotel in Benidorm.
The Centre for Information and Coordination of Emergencies (CICU) received reports the man had fallen just after midday on Thursday March 30.
Paramedics tried to save the worker but could only confirm his death at the scene.
This is the second fatal accident at work in the Marina Baixa region of Alicante province in less than a month. Another worker was decapitated in mid-March in Finestrat. The man was working in one of the company's cold rooms and was crushed by a forklift.
