Alhama de Murcia launches new intercity bus service
The buses will connect the urban centre with districts such as Condado de Alhama
The Department of Transport has announced the launch of a new intercity bus service in 2024 that will connect central Alhama de Murcia with every one of its districts, such as Condado de Alhama and the Industrial Park.
With stops in each locality, the initiative aims to improve the quality of life and mobility of all residents, but especially those living in more rural areas.
The frequency and schedules of the buses will depend largely on where the stops are located and passenger demand, but all of the vehicles will be accessible for people with reduced mobility, and will have a specific route for young people who study Vocational Training in the municipality.
The Government team is working with experts to determine the number of lines and the route, so that the service can be up and running in a few months.
"It is a very necessary service and demanded by the neighbours, that will contribute to rural development and cohesion among all,” mayor, María Cánovas eplained.
