What's on in Águilas April 2026
Semana Santa is ending but Águilas awaits plenty of spring visitors as the temperatures gradually rise!
The winter in Águilas doesn't drag on for long, and although this year the Carnival celebrations were a rather chilly affir the weather has already begun to show promising signs during the early Easter Week of 2026.
The passing of Easter in Águilas generally means that the cold weather is over for another year and beach tourism season is just beginning. With temperatures beginning to rise both on land and in the Mediterranean the town suddenly becomes a more lively place to be, with people out in the streets and a lively atmosphere without the same degree of crowding as in July and August.
The calendar for the month is another full one, with no fewer than 5 free guided tours being held including two pleasnat walks along the seafront Blue Trails, the Easter Week processions reaching their climax and a variety of events at the seafront auditorium, while in a less formal context the bar and restaurant terraces will be welcoming visitors enjoying the spring sunshine!

Below is a selection of events and activities during April, which as ever is susceptible to modification as the month goes on:
Wednesday April 1
19.30: Free dramatized tour of the three main museums in Águilas in the company of actors playing two mediums, Isabella y Fidel, as they visit the archaeological museum, the Carnival museum and the Paco Rabal Interpretation centre. 19.30: The Procession of the Taking of Christ begins at the church of EL Carmen, featuring the sculpted figures of Santiago Apóstol and the Virgen de la Amargura. The “Prendimiento” and “Oración del Huerto” tableaux leave the church of San José at 21.00.
Thursday April 2
20.00: The Procession of the Paso Morado group leaves its headquarters in Plaza José María López Méndez with the figures of El Nazareno and the Virgen de la Soledad.
Midnight: The Procession in Silence leaves with the figure of Cristo de la Agonía from Calle Lotería, later meeting up with María Santísima de la Soledad and San Juan Evangelista in Plaza del Caño.

Friday April 3
7.00: A solemn Good Friday Via Crucis begins, meeting at 10.30 at the crossroads of Calle Doctor Luis Prieto and Avenida Juan Carlos I with the figures of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, Nuestro Padre Jesús de Nazareno and San Juan Evangelista.
11.15: The Procession of the Santo Encuentro begins, featuring the meeting of Jesus and his mother.
19.30: The Procession of the Holy Burial begins.
Saturday April 4
11.00: Free guided tour of the historic town centre of Águilas starting at the Tourist Office (in Spanish).
Duration: approximately 2 hours.
This tour takes participants through the port and Plaza de España and past important monuments and buildings, such as the Ícaro (Carnival monument), Ferrocarril monument, Archaeological Museum and church of San José. The tour is suitable for those of limited mobility.

Sunday April 5, Easter Sunday
9.00 to 15.00: Traditional produce market in the Plaza de España, with the focus on hand-made soaps!
11.00: The Procession of Christ Resurrected leaves the parish church of El El Carmen for the final Easter parade of the week
Friday April 10
9.00: Speed chess tournament featuring local secondary schools.
Saturday April 11
20.00: The Youth Orchestra of the region of Valencia offer a concert at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena under the baton of conductor Isabel Rubio. Tickets 6€, for further information click here.
Sunday April 12
9.30: Free guided walk along the Blue Trail of Los Cocedores at the far western coast of Águilas, starting at the beach of La Casica Verde and reaching Calarreona before returning. For registration click here, for further information click here.
9.30: The 13th edition of the Cuidad de Águilas half marathon in honour of Juan Palazón begins at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena, along with a separate 7-km race and a non-competitive hike along the seafront. Further information at www.pdmaguilas.org or by telephone on 968 412023.
Friday April 17

Saturday April 25
20.00: The Torrevieja Youth Symphony Orchestra in concert at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena under the baton of Adolfo Arronis. Tickets 6 euros.

Águilas boasts 28 kilometres of coastline, with many fine, sandy beaches, sheltered coves and unspoilt natural beaches. It is a great summer favourite with Spanish holidaymakers, so always has a superb programme of concerts and activities throughout the summer, as well as the biggest carnival in the Region of Murcia, 40 days before Semana Santa (Easter.)
Throughout the year it also has a number of museums and historical attractions, a castle with fabulous views overlooking the bay and several other points of interest, all of which make it an good place to visit for days out. Throughout the year the tourist office runs monthly guided tours and the route of the railways, which explores the railway history of the town.
The tourist information office is located in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos, just a short walk from the sea front and Plaza de España, a cool, shaded space in which to enjoy a coffee.
