Weather in Alicante this Christmas: December 23-26 forecast
The run-up to Christmas will be dry and bright in Alicante, although showers are forecast from mid-week
Average temperatures expected in Alicante on Christmas Day
It’s been a chilly couple of weeks in Alicante province following a year of record-breaking heat. Those hoping to get out and about during Christmas week may need to bring a jacket, as the evenings in particular will continue to be quite cold in most parts.
And while the days will be a little nippy in the shade, most of the province can expect blazing sunshine in the run-up to Christmas. However, there is a chance of some light showers on the big day itself, and the weather will take a turn for the worse on December 26.
Monday December 23
The skies will be mostly clear and bright on Monday with a smattering of clouds. Evening temperatures will remain much the same as the past few days but the mercury will fall at the height of the day in most parts.
A strong northwest wind has prompted the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) to issue a yellow alert for gusts along the northern and southern coasts on Monday morning, but this should ease off from early afternoon.
Tuesday December 24
Tuesday will again be mostly clear and sunny with some high clouds here and there. Daytime temperatures will thankfully start to climb, hitting the high-teens in most areas.
Wednesday December 25
Christmas Day will bring a bit of a change and while the skies will remain fairly bright, the clouds will start to gather late in the evening, when there’s a chance of scattered showers along the coast.
The winds will remain light but the temperatures could fall by a degree or two.
Thursday December 26
Unfortunately, the thermometers will take another small dip on Boxing Day, and coastal areas could again see some light rain during the morning. Overall, the 26th will be very cloudy with only a weak, variable breeze.

- Tuesday December 24: Min 4ºC; Max 19ºC
- Wednesday December 25: Min 7ºC; Max 18ºC
- Thursday December 26: Min 4ºC; Max 17ºC
