This job in Águilas was a large and challenging one, not least of all because the old-style country villa was at least 50 years old and the number of patch-up jobs carried out on the property over the years were ‘through the roof’.

 

These botch jobs were immediately visible as soon as Leak Proof’s expert roofing team had removed the aluminum layer on top, which was extremely damaged by the sun and had been leaking water underneath. It was torn away with ease, and the felt layer beneath the aluminum was rotten, damp and had completely crumbled in places.

 

This meant, the property had no protection whatsoever from water damage and water was just soaking through the old concrete base, which had cracks all over it due to age and leaking.

 

Once the area was prepared, Leak Proof applied a special two-coat primer on top of the original concrete base, followed by two layers of polyurethane to completely waterproof the area.
