ARCHIVED - Until September 10, De La Mina y el Mar, painting exhibition by Esteban Bernal in Mazarron
The exhibition can be seen at the Casas Consistoriales in the centre of Mazarrón
“De la Mina y el Mar” is an exhibition of paintings by Esteban Bernal showing various aspects of the mines and the relationship with the sea of the municipalities of La Unión and Mazarrón on the southern coast of the Region of Murcia.
The exhibition is being held in the Casas Consistoriales of Mazarrón, with the mining images on display in the basement and the seascapes and lighthouses on the upper floor, illustrating the common features of the Sierra Minera in La Unión and the ancient mining activity in Mazarrón. Esteban Bernal is well acquainted with both localities, having been born in La Unión and grown up partly in Mazarrón, where his father was a mining engineer during the 1960s and where he spent the summers of his youth at the beach of La Isla and on the Cabezo del Puerto.
The 30-plus oil paintings on display therefore reflect his artistic roots, and are on display in the old Town Hall building of Mazarrón until 10th September.
The exhibition is open every day of the week except Sunday from 10.00 to 14.00 and on Thursday and Friday afternoons from 17.30 to 20.30. Exceptions are the closures on August 15 and on the last Saturday of each month.
