Children’s entertainment dominates the festive season schedule in Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón
Throughout the Region of Murcia the 45 Town Halls have scheduled numerous activities during the period which includes Christmas, New Year and Three Kings, and of course Mazarrón is no exception, with events designed for children to the forefront but also including various cultural offerings which are bound to appeal to grown-ups!
The schedule over the 2022-23 festive season includes the following:
Thursday December 22
16.30: Father Christmas pays a visit to the Plaza Toneleros in Puerto de Mazarrón.
Friday December 23
The start of the “Camina hacia Belén” route at the ramblers’ “Belén” (nativity scene) in the Barranco de los Algezares.
Saturday December 24
10.00: Father Christmas arrives in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in the town of Mazarrón.
16.30: Santa continues his tour of the municipality with a visit to the theatre in La Majada.
23.30: Christmas Eve party in the municipal marquee outside the La Aceña sports pavilion.
Sunday December 25
16.00: Christmas Day party in the municipal marquee outside the La Aceña sports pavilion.
Monday December 26
11.30 to 14.00 and 16.00 to 18.00: Drilo Park, slides, workshops and fun for youngsters in the Plaza del Convento in Mazarrón.
19.45: The Trío Apiacere perform “Los Sonidos de la Navidad”, lyrical music for Christmas, at the church of San José in Puerto de Mazarrón, featuring Amber Kay (Soprano) and Jesús Hernández (Tenor).
Tuesday December 27
12.30: Los Muñecos de la Tele, a children’s show in the municipal marquee next to the La Aceña sports pavilion.
16.30: Children’s workshop in the Plaza de Abastos in Puerto de Mazarrón, with biscuit making and bouncy castles.
20.00: Singing and dancing with the Rondalla de Mazarrón at the theatre in La Majada.
Wednesday December 28
12.30: La Varita Perdida, a children’s show in the municipal marquee next to the La Aceña sports pavilion.
19.00: Zambomba Navideña in the municipal marquee next to the La Aceña sports pavilion.
Thursday December 29
16.30: Children’s workshops in the Plaza del Calvario in the La Cañadica district of Mazarrón-
Friday December 30
12.30: Sonrilandia, a children’s show at the church of San José in Puerto de Mazarrón.
16.30: The Royal Pages of the Three Kings begin their tour of the municipality with a visit to the Centro Social in Cañada de Gallego.
19.00: The Red Velvets Christmas Show in the municipal marquee next to the La Aceña sports pavilion.
20.30: Un Juguete, una Ilusión, Latin dance spectacular to raise funds for the Cáritas Mazarrón charity.
Saturday December 31
10.00 to 12.00: New Year’s Eve party for children in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in the town centre of Mazarrón.
12.10: The San Silvestre family fun run starts in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Registration fee 2 kilos of food to be donated to Cáritas Mazarrón, prizes for the best outfits worn!
23.45: A New Year’s party begins in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, hosted by the Fiestas queens of 2021 and 2022 and the 2022 Carnival Muse!
00.10: New Year’s Eve party in the municipal marquee outside the La Aceña sports pavilion.
Sunday January 1
16.00: New Year’s party in the municipal marquee outside the La Aceña sports pavilion.
Monday January 2
11.00: The Royal Pages of the Three Kings continue their tour of the municipality with a visit to the Christmas tree on the seafront in Bolnuevo.
16.30: Children’s workshop in the marquee at La Aceña sports pavilion with biscuit making and bouncy castles.
Tuesday January 3
16.00 to 19.00: The Royal Pages of the Three Kings continue their tour of the municipality with a visit to the La Cañadica district.
19.00: Acustic Divas in the municipal marquee next to the La Aceña sports pavilion, featuring vocalist Marta Saorín, Silvia Campillo on piano and Ana Macías on double bass and saxophone.
Wednesday January 4
16.30: The Royal Pages pay a visit to the Plaza Toneleros in Puerto de Mazarrón to collect present letters addressed to the Three Kings.
Thursday January 5
12.30: Magician Lumaky at the church of San José in Puerto de Mazarrón.
16.30: The Three Kings Parade begins in Puerto de Mazarrón at the fishing port.
19.00: Qvoce, a vocal fusion group in the municipal marquee next to the La Aceña sports pavilion.
19.30: The Grand Three Kings Parade of Mazarrón begins at the Jardín de la Paz in Mazarrón, making its way along Avenida de la Constitución.
Friday January 6
10.30: Hot chocolate for all at the Centro Social in Cañada de Gallego.
11.30: A parade and a living nativity scene in Cañada de Gallego.
16.00: Three Kings party in the municipal marquee outside the La Aceña sports pavilion.
Saturday January 7
22.00: The enormously popular singer Pastora Soler offers a live concert at the La Aceña sports pavilion, an event which had to be postponed during the Fiestas Patronales early in December!
Tickets for this concert are priced at 10 euros and can be purchased in person at the Pabellón de Deportes La Aceña and the tourist office in Puerto de Mazarrón, both of which are open from 9.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 20.00. All takings are being donated to local charities: Cruz Roja Mazarrón, Cáritas Mazarrón, Cáritas Puertos de Mazarrón, AECC, D’Genes, Nuevo Rumbo, Anitema, Aproama, Afibromaz, Aspadem and the animal sanctuary.
Sunday January 8
20.30: The Ballet de Catalunya perform The Nutcracker at the La Aceña sports pavilion.
