There will be sunny weather and highs of up to 34ºC in the Murcia Region this week

There have been a wet couple of weeks in the Murcia Region that have made people doubt the veracity of predictions that we would see a drier and warmer autumn than usual this year. But the weather this week shows just that: as we move into the second half of October, Murcia will enjoy sunny skies and mid-afternoon temperatures in excess of 30ºC almost every day this week.

Monday October 17 starts off dry and settled, conditions that are expected to last most of the week. The only exceptions will be a blustery spell around Cartagena and La Unión at midday on Tuesday 18 when windspeeds will reach up to 35kmh, and on Thursday 20 when there will be more cloud cover and temperatures will only reach as high as 29ºC.

For now, the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is not forecasting any rain at all this week, much less putting in place weather warnings for the risk of flooding. In fact, by the weekend, there will be temperatures of as high as 34ºC – positively summery!
