Weather warnings on Thursday November 2

The high-impact storm Ciaran has been making its presence known across Spain since early in the week but as the week approaches, it will descend on Alicante province, leaving strong gusts of wind and showery weather in its wake.

Thursday November 2

Thursday will start out very overcast throughout Alicante but the skies will clear as the day goes on, leaving plenty of sunny intervals in the afternoon. Night-time temperatures will dip slightly but the day will be unseasonably warm, reaching the mid to high-20s in most parts.

Winds from the west and south will begin to pick up, with widespread strong gusts across the province.

Yellow alert for strong winds: north coast, inland, south coast.

Yellow alert for adverse sea conditions: north coast, south coast.

Minimum and maximum temperatures on Thursday

Alcoy: 11ºC to 24ºC

Alicante: 15ºC to 28ºC

Denia: 14ºC to 27ºC

Elche: 14ºC to 29ºC

Orihuela: 14ºC to 29ºC

Friday November 3

The westerly wind will persist on Friday, but the strong gusts should begin to subside later in the evening. Both day and nighttime temperatures will suffer a drop, more noticeably in the south of Alicante.

Alcoy: 9ºC to 19ºC

Alicante: 14ºC to 23ºC

Denia: 11ºC to 23ºC

Elche: 13ºC to 23ºC

Orihuela: 13ºC to 22ºC

Saturday November 4

The south of Alicante will be mostly bright on Saturday but the rest of the province will be overcast, and there’s a good chance of some scattered showers in the north from midday.

Very few changes are expected temperature-wise but the wind will pick up again, especially along the coast, although no weather warnings have been issued yet.

Alcoy: 10ºC to 20ºC

Alicante: 14ºC to 23ºC

Denia: 13ºC to 25ºC

Elche: 12ºC to 25ºC

Orihuela: 11ºC to 25ºC

Sunday November 5

Cloudy intervals in the early hours should give way to a mostly clear and sunny afternoon, but the gusty westerly wind will continue to be felt along the coast. Night-time temperatures will increase ever so slightly in the north of the province.
