Torrevieja outdoor swimming pools open for summer
The popular Sports City pools will offer daily swimming, family facilities and reduced rates for several groups

Torrevieja's outdoor swimming pools have just reopened for the summer, giving residents and visitors another way to cool off as temperatures begin to climb across the Costa Blanca.
The facilities at the city's Sports Complex will welcome swimmers from Monday June 8, with two outdoor pools available throughout the summer season.
Visitors will have access to a 25-metre swimming pool suitable for both recreational swimming and training sessions, alongside a separate leisure pool designed for families and those looking to relax in the water during the warmer months.
The council's Sports Department explained that opening hours have been designed to give as many people as possible the chance to use the facilities.
The 25-metre pool will be open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 2.30pm and again from 4pm to 9pm.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the evening schedule will be split, with swimming available from 4pm to 6pm and then from 8pm to 9pm.
Saturday opening hours will be from 9.30am until 7pm, while on Sundays the pool will be open from 9.30am until 1pm.
The leisure pool will follow a similar timetable, operating Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 2.30pm and from 4pm to 9pm.
On Saturdays it will open from 9.30am until 7pm and on Sundays from 9.30am until 1pm.
Entry prices have been kept low, with standard admission costing €3 per visit. A reduced rate of €2 is available for eligible users.
The council has also introduced a 20-visit pass covering both the swimming pool and gym facilities for €40. Those entitled to discounts can purchase the same pass for €20.
Reduced rates are available to large families, single-parent families, Youth Card holders, over-60s, people with a disability of 33% or more, victims of gender violence and victims of terrorism.
Swimmers can buy tickets and passes online through the Torrevieja Deportes platform, allowing users to book access before arriving at the Sports City.
According to the Sports Department, the outdoor pools remain one of the most popular municipal facilities during the summer months, attracting thousands of users each year. Officials said the pools provide a healthy and affordable way for people of all ages to stay active and escape the summer heat.
