Time to get the brollies out: Spain weather forecast December 4-7
Widespread rain is forecast throughout Spain this week, although it will be somewhat lighter in the south

Winter began to set in over the weekend with the first real frosts of the season pulling the temperatures down dramatically, and the mercury dipped below zero in large parts of the country on Saturday and Sunday.
As the December long weekend approaches, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts plenty of “humidity and cloudiness” throughout Spain due to an approaching Atlantic front, which will bring widespread rain over the coming days.
The stormy episodes should be much lighter in the Mediterranean and Balearic Islands but in mountain areas, the precipitation will arrive in the form of snow, with levels remaining below 1,000 metres all week.
Monday December 4

Monday will be cloudy and overcast across the board and generally weak rainfall will sweep the country from west to east, although only light showers are forecast in the extreme south. Storms will persist in northern Spain throughout the day but the weather should clear elsewhere in the afternoon.
Winds will blow from the south and southwest, tending to roll to the west and northwest in most of the country and the Balearic Islands, which will become very gusty in Cantabria and northern Galicia.
Temperatures will rise slightly compared to the weekend but the thermometers won’t reach any higher than the mid teens in most areas.
Yellow weather warning for snow/rough seas: Aragon, Catalonia, Galicia.
Orange weather warning for snow/rough seas: Asturias, Cantabria, Basque Country.
Tuesday December 5

High pressures will help the weather to stabilise in most of the country on Tuesday but stormy episodes are still probable in large parts of Cantabria, the Pyrenees, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.
In the rest of Spain, the skies will be largely cloudy and the rain will arrive in the southwest at the end of the day.
Temperatures will decrease in most of the country, except in the southeast and the Canary Islands. Weak frosts are expected in inland areas of the north.
Yellow weather alert for snowfall: Aragon and Catalonia
Wednesday December 6

A low pressure system will approach from the southwest of the country, leaving a predominance of cloudy or overcast skies in a good part of southern and eastern Spain and in the Balearic Islands, although clear spells will occur throughout the day.
Cloud cover is expected to be more persistent in Andalucia, where weak rainfall will be likely, more intense in the area around the Strait, and it will also be a showery day in the Balearics.
Heavy rain and storms will again hit the north, but no weather warnings have been issued.
Maximum temperatures are expected to rise practically across the board, except for slight decreases in Mediterranean areas.
Thursday December 7

The entire country will again be under the influence of a frontal system on Thursday that will create cloudy and overcast skies, along with widespread rain that will spread from the northwest to the southeast as the day goes on. These showers will again be much weaker in Mediterranean areas and the south of Spain in general.
Temperatures will increase sharply in most areas, most notably in the extreme north and southeast.
