The 8th edition of the Semana Flamenca de Alhama de Murcia (SFAM) is being held in Alhama from September 25 to 28 with a selection of events in which the most modern and innovative flamenco trends are showcased, with artists including Califato 3/4, Queralt Lahoz, Crudo Pimento & Pablo Egea, y Blanca La Almendrita and others.
Wednesday September 25
20.00: Free concert by local dance schools at the Auditorio Municipal “Enrique Tierno Galván” in the Parque de la Cubana.
22.00: Première of the show Kimaya, an innovative fusion of flamenco singing, percussion and guitar with electronic music. Click here for further details.
Thursday September 26
20.00: Free concert at the municipal auditorium of Alhama.
22.00: Artists from the Region of Murcia perform as part of the ESTRENARTE project run by the Dirección General de Juventud of the regional government.
Friday September 27
21.00: Concert at the José Kubala municipal football ground featuring Blanca La Almendrita, Ralxx.me & Losoho, Sequential Ayeo, Código Jondo and Califato 3/4. Click here for further details.
Saturday September 28
21.00: Concert at the José Kubala municipal football ground featuring Canastéreo, Pablo Egea & Crudo Pimento, Queralt Lahoz, Derek Van Den Bulcke and a surprise guest whose identity will be revealed during the festival. Click here for further details.
Alongside the musical events, all of the artists will contribute to the social life of the municipality of Alhama with visits to the Centro Terapéutico Las Flotas, the Sagrada Familia day care centre for the elderly, the disability and psycho-social centres of Las Salinas, the Escuela de Música de Alhama de Murcia and the jail of Campos Del Río Murcia II.

Alhama de Murcia Tourist information office is located on the edge of the Plaza de la Constitución, just a few metres away from the underground car park and the Town hall of Alhama de Murcia.
The tourist office offers free guided audiotours in English which take visitors around the historical sites of interest in Alhama. These be loaned at any time, although allow an hour and a half to complete the tour, and when loaning the audio equipment visitors are asked to leave passports or ID cards with the tourist office.
The office also carries a full range of leaflets for the archaeological museum of Los Baños, which is built around the historic spa which gives Alhama its name, and the mountains of Sierra Espuña, which is also an important area within the municipality of Alhama. Areas such as El Berro and Gebas have a number of interesting routes which can be followed and there are several picnic areas and good walking routes within the Sierra Espuña natural park.
The tourist office also carries leaflets for the many cultural events and fiestas which take place in Alhama throughout the year, including Los Mayos, Semana Santa, Christmas,the Romería of La Candelaria and the Auto de los Reyes Magos in El Berro.
