September 1 Free guided tour of the Convento de San Francisco in Mula

Trace the last 3,500 years of history in the Mula archaeological museum

Today it is home to the tourist office of Mula but the origins of the Convento de San Francisco lie as far back as the 16^th century and it also houses the local archaeological museum.

This contains relics and artifacts from the first human settlers in what is now the Region of Murcia as well as later periods, with different exhibition spaces devoted to the historical legacy of Mula, the Romanization of the area and the archaeological site of La Almoloya, which is located between Mula and Pliego and was a settlement belonging to the Argaric culture approximately 3,500 years ago.

This guided tour on 1^st September begins at 11.00 at the church of San Francisco and although it is free of charge prior registration is required online here.
