Rain, storms and chilly weather: Murcia forecast December 10-15

Some damp weather is in store for Murcia this week with cooler temperatures

It seems the chillier weather is here to stay in Murcia as the south of Spain finally catches up to the fact that it’s mid-December already. Even so, it will be fairly nice and sunny in the Region of Murcia this week, now that the wind has died down a bit, though there will be some showery episodes this week.

For Tuesday December 10, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts “fairly cloudy skies, with intervals of cloudy skies at the end of the day”. Minimum temperatures are falling, with light frost in the sierras, while the maximum temperatures remain unchanged. There are just “light to moderate north-westerly winds, decreasing in the afternoon” after the strong winds on the coast this Monday 9.

On Wednesday 11, there could be some “occasional showers, more likely on the coast,” where there will also be a chance of thunder and lightning in the afternoon. The neighbouring Alicante comarca of the Vega Baja, however, including Pilar de la Horadada and Orihuela Costa, are on yellow alert for rainfall. Temperatures this Wednesday remain unchanged, with minimum temperatures “locally falling”, with light frosts in the north of the region. Winds from the north-east, light inland and moderate on the coast.

For Thursday 12, Aemet predicts “cloudy skies, with occasional showers not ruled out” though these should be weaker than the day before and not too stormy.

More coastal showers are possible on Friday 13, with “cloudy skies” and some “light variable winds”.

Looking ahead to the weekend, then, it should still be quite cloudy with the same chill in the air, but at least dry, according to the Aemet forecast.
