ARCHIVED - Rain in the east and 34 degrees in the west all week: Andalusia weather forecast Oct 3-9
It’ll either be a sweltering hot week or a dripping wet one, depending on where in Andalusia you are
It’s a game of two halves this week, with the western side of the autonomous community of Andalusia – including Cordoba and Seville – seeing sunny skies all week and temperatures up to 33 and 34ºC in the early afternoon for the whole week, while the eastern areas – such as Almeria and Granada – will have a week characterised by rain and thunderstorms.
The rain will come and go from the Costa de Almería all week, as well as Jaén and the province of Granada, but maximum temperatures will still reach into the high 20s during the day and minimums will not be lower than 10ºC.
Meanwhile, the coastline of Cadiz and Huelva will be dry and warm with similar temperatures, while the inland areas of Seville and Cordoba will see much higher temperatures of the kind they saw this summer of up to 33 and 34ºC.
Andalusia weather, Wednesday October 5
In Malaga, it will be mostly sunny but the rains will reach as far across as Marbella by Thursday October 6, and even into Algeciras near Gibraltar. This will just be a light shower, though, before the sunshine and Indian summer conditions return.
Andalusia weather, Thursday October 6
This is what the Spanish know as ‘veroño’ like having a second ‘verano’ in autumn (‘otoño’).
However, it remains to be seen how long this will last for, with dark clouds gathering by the end of the week. And judging by recent weather events, the State Meteorological Agency in Spain (Aemet) may issue a weather alert – either for extreme heat or a flood warning – at any moment.
