Police uncover body in Torremolinos house suspected to be second victim of Italian killer

Spanish police have found the lifeless body of a person who could be Sibora Gagani, a 22-year-old Albanian woman who went missing in 2014 and whose ex-boyfriend recently confessed to murder. Officers found the body walled up in the house the pair shared in Torremolinos, Malaga.

The alleged murderer, an Italian man of 45, was recently arrested for the death of Paula, his current partner. It was at the police station where he saw a photo of Gagani with the ‘missing’ sign when he confessed to having killed her and walled her up in the flat where they lived together.

According to sources in the investigation, he said he used acid to make the body disappear.

The murder is said to have taken place after the young Albanian woman decided to put an end to their relationship in 2014.

The suspect, known only as Marco R., and his girlfriend Sibora Gagani moved to the Costa del Sol in 2011, the year in which they started living together. Three years later, on July 7, 2014, the young woman disappeared and her family, who lived in Italy, never heard from her again.

Marco was registered in the Viogén system, Spain’s monitoring system for cases of gender violence, but there were no complaints against him by either of the two victims.

When Marco R. purportedly stabbed his latest girlfriend, Paula, to death on May 17, 2023, the town of Torremolinos held a minute’s silence.
