The 4-hour raid took place in 1936 in the early days of the Spanish Civil War

In the early days of the Spanish Civil War, on 25^th November 1936, the city of Cartagena was subjected to a 4-hour aerial bombing attack which shook the city to its core, and the date is still remembered every year in this part of the Region of Murcia.

This year a special concert is being held at the Civil War shelter/museum on Friday 28^th November at 20.30, featuring the Galatea choir with a programme of emotional songs such as “Akai Hana, Shiroi Hana” by M. Nakabayasi, “Cantares” by Joan Manuel Serrat and “Sure on this shining night” by M. Lauridsen.
