Click HereIn its continuing efforts to keep Águilas at the forefront of environmentally friendly measures in the Region of Murcia the Town Hall has this week brought into service a new mobile “eco-park”, or waste recycling centre, which will collect different kinds of rubbish and waste from various districts of the municipality and make it easier for residents to dispose of items which are not suitable for the normal rubbish containers.
Initially the vehicle will park on the seafront next to the port of Águilas on Mondays, in Las Yucas in the west of the town on Wednesdays and in Calabardina on Fridays, on each occasion from 10.00 to 14.00. This timetable will remain in place for the first few months while operators analyse its suitability, before the schedule is gradually amplified to take in more locations in the future, according to councillor Isabel Fernández.
Among the waste which can be deposited in the containers on board the eco-park are metals, x-ray images, printer toner and ink, old mobile phones and other electronic devices, car batteries, light bulbs, batteries, cooking and engine oil, paint tins, fluorescent strip lights and TV sets.
