May 17 English-speaking dog lovers invited to Orihuela charity walks and adoption event
Asoka Orihuela is holding special shelter walks in San Bartolomé to help abandoned dogs socialise and find new homes
Animal rescue association Asoka Orihuela is inviting animal lovers to take part in a new edition of its popular “Solidarity Walks” this Sunday May 17, including a dedicated session for English speakers.
The charity event will take place at the Orihuela Animal Protection Centre in San Bartolomé and aims to raise funds for the care of abandoned animals while helping more dogs find permanent homes.
Visitors will have the chance to walk dogs currently staying at the shelter, meet the animals in a relaxed setting and learn more about adoption, fostering and sponsorship opportunities.
According to the association, these events are especially important for helping dogs improve their socialisation skills and giving potential adopters the chance to interact with them outside their kennels.
Participation costs €5, with all proceeds going directly towards feeding and caring for the animals at the shelter.
Several time slots have been organised throughout the morning. Two sessions will be held in Spanish at 10.15am and 11.30am, while a separate English-speaking session is scheduled for 11am.
The event will take place at the shelter facilities on Camino Lo Arques s/n in San Bartolomé, Orihuela.

Asoka Orihuela regularly organises adoption and awareness activities to help tackle animal abandonment in the Vega Baja area and encourage responsible pet ownership.
