ARCHIVED - Individuals and businesses in Murcia can apply for grants to buy electric vehicles
As part of its Moves III project, Murcia’s regional government has allocated 11.8 million euros to encourage sustainable mobility

The Murcia government is urging residents, companies, and community organisations to apply for a slice of 11.8 million euros in grants for the purchase of electric vehicles and the installation of charging infrastructures.
Individual grants of up to 9,000 euros are available as part of the region’s ‘Moves III’ to “reactivate the electric car market and encourage citizens to opt for less polluting and more sustainable transport”.
Of the total 11.8 million, 60% will be allocated to the purchase of electric, plug-in and fuel cell vehicles.
“Specifically, vehicle subsidies of up to 7,000 euros are available for the purchase of passenger cars, and 9,000 euros for vans or light lorries, if in both cases they are accompanied by the scrapping of a vehicle at least seven years old; if it is not scrapped, they could reach up to 4,500 and 7,000 euros, respectively,” said the regional authority, adding that the acquisition can be direct or through leasing or renting financing.
The remaining 40% of the grant aid will be allocated to subside the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Applications must be submitted telematically at the electronic headquarters https://sede.carm.es, before December 31, 2023, or in person at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Energy and Industrial and Mining Activity.
The ‘Moves III’ program promotes the “electrification of mobility, boosting the industry and the associated business sector through an incentive program that focuses on two areas” – the promotion of electric, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell vehicles, and the installation of recharging points.
