Shocking footage has emerged from Barcelona, where a man screaming in tourists’ faces ends up striking a 1-year-old girl as she walks in front of her pushchair.

The video shows the stranger pretending initially to hit the child, by drawing his hand back and then swinging at the child before stopping inches from her face.

The parents who were clearly concerned began to shield the child from the man, as he brought his hand back the second time before swinging again at the child. This time the stranger struck the child on the left side of her face.

The parents were clearly horrified and confused. In the video they are seen carrying the child away from the stranger, as he continues to shout at them.

The 31-year-old perpetrator assaulted two other people over the weekend before he was arrested by the police on Sunday. Another of his victims is a 60-year-old man who suffered horrific cuts to his face and bruises all over his body.

The attacker was able to be identified through video footage and eyewitness descriptions. He is to appear in court on Tuesday.
