Highs of 25ºC this weekend: Spain weather forecast March 27-30

Scattered showers will hit northern Spain but the south will bask in more spring-like temperatures

We’ve been enjoying a couple of pleasant days after almost a full month of rain and the good weather is set to continue into the weekend, with mostly clear skies and hardly any rain forecast. The only exception will be the extreme north of Spain, where it will remain cloudy and damp.

A strong high-pressure system has been keeping the lows at bay and this welcome change should last in most of Spain and the Balearic Islands for another few days. It will be a bit overcast in the Canary Islands on Thursday March 27 with the occasional thunderstorm but elsewhere, the skies will be bright.

Weather outlook on Thursday March 27

Daytime temperatures should rise slightly on Thursday but it will remain cold at night, especially inland, with light frosts occurring in mountainous areas.

On Friday March 28, the weather will begin to change in the far north of the country, where winds will shift to the northwest and overcast skies along with heavy rain are forecast.

Very strong gusts of wind from the northwest will place the Valencian Community and Catalonia on yellow alert.

Saturday March 29 will be a day of great contrasts. The weather will be wintery, wet and cold in the north but in southern Spain, things will turn more spring-like, with sunny skies and rising temperatures. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) expects the mercury to hit or even exceed 25ºC in the likes of Sevilla and Murcia.

The wind warning has been upgraded to orange in Catalonia and extended to the Balearic Islands, while the Valencian Community and Aragon have been issued with yellow warnings for gusts.

It will remain pleasantly sunny and bright on Sunday March 30 with temperatures similar to Saturday’s, so there will be some real warmth during the middle of the day in central and southern Spain.
