Grand Hyatt La Manga Club chosen as an official training base for 2030 World Cup
The prestigious Grand Hyatt, La Manga Club joins Pinatar Arena, La Torre Golf and Alhama Arena to be sub-venues in the Region of Murcia for the 2030 World Cup
As expected, the Grand Hyatt La Manga Club has been selected as an official base or training camp for teams competing in the 2030 World Cup as announced on July 19 by RFEF the Spanish Football Federation.
The RFEF also confirmed the 11 stadiums that will host matches in the tournament. Unfortunately, the Real Murcia, Enrique Roca Stadium was finally left out.
Four training centres in the Region of Murcia will be sub-venues for the 2030 World Cup, the facilities of La Manga Club, Pinatar Arena, DoubleTree by Hilton at La Torre Golf de Roldán and the Alhama Arena (Due to be completed by the end of 2025) could host concentrations and training sessions of some national teams.
The facilities at La Manga Club are extensive and with the availability of the 5* Grand Hyatt Hotel the venue could prove very attractive to prospective teams.
With 8 natural grass football pitches of international FIFA standards, La Manga Club’s Football Centre is no stranger to top-level football and has been chosen as a training destination by numerous renowned teams. This includes national squads such as Spain and England, as well as their women’s, U19 and U21 teams.
In addition, a multitude of top level Spanish clubs including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Sevilla FC, as well as teams from various countries such as the UK Premier League’s Liverpool FC, AFC Bournemouth, Chelsea FC, Everton FC, Newcastle United FC, plus Borussia Dortmund, VfB Suttgart, FC Bayern München, PSV Eindhoven, AFC Ajax, Dynamo Zagreb, Olympique de Marseille, Sportclub Heerenveen, Molde FK, Rosenborg FK, Tromso IL, CSKA Moscow, have also trained at the facilities.
The Football Centre at La Manga Club is also the home of FC Cartagena’s official training ground and La Manga Club’s Junior Football Academy.
After the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, the 2030 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Spain, Morocco and Portugal. Spain will have eleven venues, Morocco six and Portugal three, complying with FIFA’s regulations of presenting a maximum of 20 stadiums, the RFEF said in its announcement.
The stadiums that will host matches of the 2030 World Cup will be Anoeta (Donostia-San Sebastián), Camp Nou (Barcelona), Gran Canaria (Las Palmas), La Cartuja (Seville), La Rosaleda (Málaga), Metropolitano (Madrid), Nueva Romareda (Zaragoza), RCDE Stadium (Barcelona, Cornellá-El Prat), Riazor (A Coruña), San Mamés (Bilbao) and Santiago Bernabéu (Madrid).Although RFEF has chosen the training camps, the venues will have to go through a direct evaluation process by FIFA and it is then up to the qualifying county’s football associations to select which venue it wishes to use.
