February 11, 12, 16 and 18 Guided Carnival tours in Aguilas
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
Enjoy a visit to Águilas during the biggest week of the year for the people of the town!
Official tour guide Inmaculada Mondéjar is holding a series of guided tours in Águilas during the Carnival celebrations of 2024, explaining and illustrating some of the most relevant aspects of what are without a doubt the most spectacular fiestas of their kind in the Region of Murcia.
Each tour includes a tasting of the local “cuerva” Carnival liqueur, a “Batalla de Cascarones” (egg-shell and confetti battle) for youngsters and visits to the historic town centre, the Monument to Icarus and the Carnival, the Esparto grass weaving museum and the Carnival museum to see the prize-winning costumes and the “Mussona” disguise which were worn in 2023.
NOTE: On February 12 and 16 the Carnival Museum is included but the Esparto grass weaving museum is not, while on February 11 and 18 the Esparto museum is included but the Carnival museum is not.
All visits begin at 12.30 outside the Águilas tourist office and last for approximately 90 minutes, with registration priced at 10 euros for adults, 5 euros for under-10s and free admission for under-5s. Fees are to be paid in cash at the start of the visits, which will be held with a minimum group size of 10.
Bookings can be made by telephone on 0034 676 012 333 or via e mail at inmamonde@yahoo.es.
The staff at the tourist office will be happy to provide you with details of where a good lunch can be obtained and accommodation details, and should always be your first port of call when visiting Águilas!
