ARCHIVED - Council clean-up continues – next phase for Camposol

Mazarrón Council is continuing the clean-up after the preliminary stage

Following the clearing of public roads and pavements of overhanging and encroaching vegetation using strimmers and bush cutters, Mazarrón Council has now moved onto the next stage which involves spot spraying the roads and pavements with weed killer to control vegetation which is self-cultivating in the cracks and crevices in the roads and pavements.

The work involves crews with tractor mounted tanks locating vegetation growing through the asphalt and block paving which is then treated with spray weed killer, preventing the spread and proliferation of weeds and foliage, This not only prevents the fissures being enlarged by the vegetation, but also minimises the overgrown appearance of the roads and reduces the fire hazard risk which has caused problems in other parts of the municipality.

In addition to the vegetation clearance the now regular street sweeper routine on the primary route through the urbanisation is also continuing.
