Cadiz beaches spring and summer 2023: when is high season and what services are available?
These are the dates for the high, medium and low season on Cadiz’s beaches, and when services like toilets and lifeguards will be accessible
The spring beach season in Cadiz is due to start on Sunday April 2 and will last until Wednesday May 31, the City Council has announced. Depending on the season, there are more or less services available at the Andalusian city’s popular beaches.The low season of beaches will include the periods June 1-15 and September 16-30, while the middle season is June 16-30 and September 1-15. Finally, the high season this year will be from July 1 to August 31, with all beach services fully operational, including toilets, showers, lifeguard towers, amphibious chairs for disabled people to being able to bathe, and more.
During this current spring season, which begins on Easter week/Semana Santa, the central block of beach toilets on the Playa de la Caleta beach will be open from Monday to Friday, 12pm-5pm. On the Playa de la Victoria, the toilets in modules 2 and 3 will be open 12pm-6pm, in addition to the first aid kits of the central Cadiz beach.
Cadiz Councillor for the Environment, Rocío Sáez, said, “In 2022 two extensions of beach services were carried out: on the one hand, the cleaning of sand and waste collection every day of the year (since in winter the beach was never cleaned on Sundays), and on the other hand, the opening of three more toilet modules in the low season, that is, the first half of June and the second half of September.”
She added: “Now we continue in this line of expanding services progressively with the opening of three more modules in this period, two in La Caleta and Santa María del Mar, so that almost all of the toilets, both fixed and movable, will be available for four months.”
