The Guardia Civil in the Malaga town of Cártama have arrested an English citizen who is wanted in the UK in connection with a sexual assault.

The arrest occurred after officers from ‘Operation Falika’ learned that the man, who was about to be evicted from his home, was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant from the British judicial authorities.

Officers investigated the property from which the suspect and his partner were evicted on January 24. In an attempt to hide his true identity, the Briton at first refused to hand over his documentation, but the police quickly established that he was the individual wanted for sexual assault in the UK.

The detainee, who has been named only by the initials ‘AK’, has been made available to the Central Court of Investigation in Madrid.
