Fun and music over the weekend at the unspoilt beach of Percheles

The national holiday of August 15 (Assumption Day) is traditionally viewed as the beginning of the end of the summer holidays in Spain, and although this has been less and less the case in recent years it is still the date of a host of local fiestas throughout the Region of Murcia and the rest of the country.

At the beach of Percheles, in the south-west of the municipality of Mazarrón, this year’s celebrations (organized by the Town Hall and the Fiestas Committee of Cañada de Gallego) include the following:

Friday August 12

22.00: Performance by students at the De Rosa dance school, followed by a foam party.

Saturday August 13

22.30: Flamenco music with “El Veneno del Boquerón”.

Midnight: DJ Ruby Rodríguez continues the musical entertainment.

Sunday August 14

18.30: Zumba master class on the beach to raise funds for the AECC (the Spanish cancer research foundation).

22.30: Music from Antonio Muñoz, followed by DJ Ruby Rodríguez.

Monday August 15

9.00: Petanca tournament.
