The rain will not let up in the Region of Murcia this week, though it will become less intense

Murcia weather warnings, Monday May 29

After the intense rainfall that left flooding and scenes of carnage across the Region of Murcia last week, more rain is forecast for this week, although it seems it will begin to die down and become less intense by the end of the week.

There is a yellow alert for the Region of Murcia this Monday May 29 for accumulated rainfall of up to 20mm per hour, and an orange alert for Tuesday 30, warning of thunderstorms and accumulated rainfall of up to 30mm per hour between 12 noon and 10pm.

More rain is forecast for Wednesday May 31, and the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow alert across the whole Region of Murcia for the risk of thunderstorms, though the wind will not be too strong.

Those hoping that the change to the month of June would mean a change in the weather will be disappointed, as the rains are forecast to continue into Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday too, though now much lighter and with plenty of sunny periods in between.

Maximum temperatures this week will remain steady from last week, with highs of 23-27ºC during the day, while minimum temperatures at night will be a little higher than last week, not falling below 10-13ºC.
