ARCHIVED - Almeria and Huelva lead the way, with no patients in ICU: Andalusia Covid update September 2
Seville, Malaga and Cadiz have the worst rate of Covid hospitalisations in the region, with over 100 patients between them

The rate of hospitalisations for Covid-19 and the number of admissions to ICUs across the autonomous community of Andalusia have kept on falling this Friday, as they have continuously for over a month now.
While the rate of infection remains steady, the provinces of Almeria and Huelva can boast the best Covid hospital data in the region, with not one single person in the ICU there because of coronavirus.
New infections
Andalusia has registered a total of 1,202 new cases of coronavirus since last Tuesday, of which 683 were in people over 60. This latest figure means that the region is on a steady level, neither improving or worsening.
The total number of infections in Andalusia since the beginning of the pandemic is now 1,597,609.
Hospitalisations
The number of hospital admissions in Andalusia continues to decline, as it has since the end of July; the region recorded 32 fewer hospitalisations than last Tuesday, standing at 223, while admissions to ICUs fell by one, down to a total of just ten.
By provinces, Seville has 42 hospitalised patients, one of whom is in ICU, followed by Malaga, with 40 hospitalised patients and three in ICU; Cadiz, with 32 and one in ICU; Granada with 26 and one in ICU; Jaen, with 25 hospitalised patients, three of whom are in ICU; Córdoba, with 23 and one in ICU; Huelva, with 18, none in ICU; and Almeria, with 17 and none in ICU.
Cumulative incidence rate
With regard to the current average incidence of infection in Andalusia in the last 14 days in people over 60 years of age, this Friday it has fallen again after the downward trend that began on 8 July was broken on Tuesday, and now stands at 110.70 points per 100,000 inhabitants, 7.11 points less than three days ago.
Deaths
The number of deaths from Covid-19 in Andalusia has risen by 33 to 15,089. The death toll for the last half a week is almost double what it was at the last count, when 17 people were pronounced dead over a four-day period.
