All aboard for summer fun as Orihuela Costa tourist train returns
The Tren Turístico will rumble along the southern Alicante coast throughout July and August
Get ready to roll with the Orihuela Tourist train, back on track from Monday July 1 for the summer season 2024. This fun road train is an innovative and fun way to explore the southern Alicante coast. With covered seating and plenty of space, it's the perfect way to beat the summer heat and discover the local area.
After first hitting the streets in 2018, the Orihuela Tren Turístico quickly became a hit with both residents and visitors alike. Operated by Bus Sigüenza, a renowned Valencian passenger transport company, it's billed as the "best way to discover Orihuela Costa." And with good reason.
For the upcoming summer months of July and August, the tourist train will be chugging along a return route from Campoamor to Playa Flamenca and back, with stops at favourite destinations like Playa Flamenca beach (Cala Mosca), Zenia Boulevard shopping centre, La Zenia beach (Cala Bosque) and the beautiful shores of Campoamor (Playa de la Glea).
With tickets priced at just 6 euros per person and valid for an entire day of unlimited travel, it's an affordable way to explore. The train provides a cooling breeze even on the stillest of days, thanks to its open-air design. So, you can comfortably discover the region and take in all the sights and sounds of Orihuela Costa in under an hour.
All aboard for summer adventures
From Monday to Friday, July and August, scheduled services depart from Campoamor at 11am, 1pm, 4pm and 6pm. Return services from Playa Flamenca are timed perfectly at 12pm, 2pm, 5pm and 7pm.
The train stops in several urbanisations along the way, including La Regia, Cabo Roig and La Zenia, making it easy for everyone to get around and explore the local beaches.
So, whether you're a resident looking for a fun day out or a tourist eager to discover the area's many gems, the Orihuela Costa Tourist Train is the perfect choice.
