Alicante weather forecast December 30-January 2: Overcast start to week gives way to sunshine by Wednesday
Beginning the week with overcast skies, the sun will be out again in the province Alicante from Wednesday onwards
The week ahead is set to start with two days of overcast weather, before the sun returns to the Costa Blanca at the beginning of the new year. Temperatures will remain unchanged from the weekend, and the nights may still experience a few cold snaps as temperatures drop to as low as 5ºC.
Overall however, the weather this week is set to be a mixed bag as we go into the new year. With everything from rain and clouds at the beginning of the week to sunshine from Wednesday onwards, those in Alicante will have to be patient this week with the forever changing weather.
Monday December 30
High 16ºC; Low 7ºC
The forecast is predicted to be overcast with spells of sunshine for most of the day on Monday December 30, in the province of Alicante. There is little sign of rain for much of the province this Monday, though in the south, in towns like Torrevieja, there may be an afternoon shower to contend with.
Temperatures will be mostly stable throughout the province and will have little variation along the coast. The day will experience highs of 16ºC, and the night lows of 7ºC. Furthermore, the wind will be extremely light throughout the province, with speeds no higher than 10 kph. The wind that will be experienced is likely to come from an easterly direction.
Tuesday December 31
High 16ºC; Low 7ºC
Rain and overcast skies are on the cards for Tuesday December 31, in Alicante. The previous day's overcast skies will give way to rainy showers throughout the province, as thunderstorms also threaten to dampen new year’s spirits.
Max and min temperatures will remain the same as the previous day and night, as there is no variation in the temperatures between both days. Furthermore, the wind is going to pick up from the previous day and will reach highs of 15 kph. The wind that is set to be present will come from a Northeasterly direction.
Wednesday January 1
High 17ºC; Low 6ºC
The overcast weather of the previous day is set to break on New Year’s Day as sunny skies return to the province. The day will begin with sunshine, but a small number of clouds may roll in as the day goes on. Moreover, the weather will be better in the south of the province as they will experience more blue skies than the north.
Maximum temperatures are on the rise from the previous day, but the night will remain the same, as the lows are to drop again to around 6ºC. Furthermore, the wind is going to drop from the previous day and will reach no higher than 10 kph. The wind that is set to be present will come from a northeasterly direction.
Thursday January 2
High 18ºC; Low 5ºC
Blue skies and beautiful sunshine will return to the province on Thursday January 2. The temperature is on the up again in the day as highs hit 18ºC. However, the nights remain cold as the lows will drop to 5ºC
Furthermore, the wind will drop again from the previous day, and will blow no faster than 5 kph. The small amount of wind present will be coming from a southerly direction, but will do nothing to ruin the beautiful day that is set for Alicante on January 2.

- Tuesday December 31: Min 7ºC; Max 16ºC
