ARCHIVED - 11 Mazarron beaches awarded safe tourism certification

The beaches of Mojón, Alamillo, Rihuete, Puerto, La Isla, Bahía, La Reya, Nares, Castellar, Las Moreras and Bolnuevo have all been given this Covid safety certification by the Spanish Tourism Institute

Raquel Raja, Councillor for Tourism and Gaspar Miras, Mayor of Mazarrón, attended the official presentation of the “Safe Tourism Certified”certification held at the “El Castellar” beach on Friday August 13.

This certification accredits the systems and frequency of cleaning beach facilities, the cleaning and action protocols implemented by the civil protection service as a result of Covid-19; the articulation of systems and circuits for access to limited mobility facilities such as amphibious chairs, etc, in other words, "A seal of quality indicating that our beaches are a safe destination. “

This accreditation joins the 7 Q for quality flags, the 8 blue flags and the 5 Eco-beach flags already awarded to the municiapality of Mazarrón this summer.

Mazarrón has over 30 beaches, and although these awards are usually aimed at the serviced beaches, there are many wild beaches and almost uninhabited coves in the municipality as well as large swathes of virtually empty low density beaches.
